Reaching Our Dream Campaign



Norwood – Fontbonne Academy has embarked on a long-awaited journey to make our dreams for our present and future students a reality.  The administration, in conjunction with architects and advisors, has crafted a Master Facilities Plan to maintain the school’s unique qualities while improving and upgrading the facilities to meet 21st century educational needs.  The first phase of this initiative – the construction of a Commons Building on the Fontbonne Campus and a two-story classroom addition to James Anthony Hall at Norwood – has been completed.



Norwood CampusNorwood Campus

Renovation to the Norwood Campus will create an ideal environment for students to prepare for high school and will maintain the sense that students “move up” as they prepare for graduation.  A new high-tech science laboratory will greatly improve the available facilities for modern scientific learning.  Renovations planned for Phase I for the Norwood Campus include:

  • A new two-story classroom wing will be attached to James Anthony Hall for the seventh and eighth grades
  • A high-tech science laboratory
  • The upper levels of James Anthony Hall will be renovated for seventh and eighth grade classroom space

Renovations planned for Phase II for the Norwood Campus include:

  • The “Big House” will be renovated and reconfigured to house enrichment programs including music and art
  • A state-of-the-art computer center and library will be developed
  • Seventh and eighth grade students will have their own common dining space



Fontbonne CampusFontbonne Campus
One of the most important and exciting components of the campaign will be the addition of the Commons, a multi-purpose building where the entire campus of 600 people can be together, a first for the NFA community. This area will serve as gathering space, for liturgy, stage productions, gymnasium, and cafeteria with kitchen facilities. 

The Fontbonne Building will be completely renovated and reconfigured in Phase II of this project.  First, second and third grade classes and Junior Level Montessori will be relocated to the ground floor; fourth, fifth and sixth grades will move up to the second level; and improved access will be created for all classrooms.  Additional improvements planned for Phase II for this campus include:

  • A new main entrance will be created to ease traffic flow and administrative tasks
  • The Fontbonne library will be expanded into a dedicated space
  • An indoor student waiting area and bus access will be adjusted to alleviate traffic on adjoining streets


The Reaching Our Dream Capital Campaign, targeting funds to support this current building project, has already received commitments totaling more than $2 million from over 300 donors. 

Leadership Level gifts begin at $10,000 and all contributions are payable over three years.  So far, contributions to the campaign have ranged from $250 to $250,000.  In addition, your support can be acknowledged through naming opportunities that have been developed around campus improvements.
